He’s the human API between finance and every other department, translating dollars and decimals into insights that move the company forward. Whether he’s decoding new regulations or ensuring the books balance beautifully, Matt’s mantra is simple: “Keep stacking days.” Rome wasn’t built in a day, but it definitely had a great budget.

With a CPA license, an MBA in Accounting from Rockhurst University, and a reputation for keeping the financial ship not just afloat but cruising, Matt excels at turning numbers into strategy. Whether untangling the “One Big Beautiful Bill” or fine-tuning reports to reflect the firm’s financial pulse, he helps ensure BranchPattern’s books are as resilient as its buildings. His secret weapon? A love of consistency, because steady hands build strong futures.

Outside of work, Matt stays busy (and often one-handed) with young kids, mastering the art of multitasking with a toddler in tow. He and his wife not only share the same initials (MAS) but also perfectly aligned birthdays. Each other’s half-birthday, to be exact. When he’s not swimming with the kids or checking out the latest dessert spot, you’ll probably find him cheering on the Oklahoma City Thunder, a team he’s supported through every high and low.

Eliana Peralta-Sapienza is a dedicated Building Performance Analyst at BranchPattern, specializing in Building Performance Analysis for energy, operational carbon, and embodied carbon. Committed to her belief in leaving the world better than she found it, Eliana's mission is to enhance buildings' energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions, thereby mitigating human impacts on the environment.

Since earning her Master’s in Sustainable Buildings and Environments from the UK in 2016, Eliana has been actively working to leave a positive mark on the sustainability field. She holds impressive credentials such as LEED BD+C, WELL AP, EDGE Expert, and LFA, and is an active member of USGBC and ILFI. Her commitment to leaving the world better than she found it has led her to work on notable projects globally, including in the UK, Ireland, Azerbaijan, and the Dominican Republic before joining BranchPattern. A highlight of her career was serving as an energy assessor for a 500 million euro leisure project in a forest.

Eliana’s creativity shines through her beautiful jewelry-making and expressive watercolor painting. Her artistic talents are complemented by her impressive linguistic skills, as she is fluent in four languages. This unique blend of artistry and multilingualism adds a vibrant and dynamic dimension to her professional and personal life.

Emily Richie is a dedicated LEED Volume Project Manager at BranchPattern, where she guides project teams in reaching their sustainability goals. She believes the built environment plays a crucial role in people’s lives and hopes her work leaves a lasting, positive impact on both people and the planet. Emily thrives on helping others realize their sustainability vision alongside passionate colleagues. Her attention to detail and adaptability are her biggest strengths, allowing her to excel in the ever-evolving field of sustainability.

With her LEED AP BD+C credential, Emily is well-versed in green building standards. Although she is early in her career, she has already made significant strides by becoming a LEED accredited professional and helping certify numerous LEED buildings. Her enthusiasm for the green building industry is palpable, and she is excited to continue growing and making a positive impact.

Emily is all about the great outdoors and staying active—whether it’s running, climbing, skiing, or getting into her latest adventure, biking. Her dog is her trusty sidekick on park strolls and trail hikes. She's also a travel enthusiast with a deep curiosity for architecture, different cultures, and languages. Hanlin Tian is a Sustainability Consultant at BranchPattern, where his passion for collaboration and problem-solving drives him to deliver solutions that benefit both clients and the environment. A naturally curious and eager learner, Hanlin continuously seeks out new knowledge to refine his expertise in sustainability, always striving to find the most effective and practical strategies.

Hannah Wilson is a Mechanical Engineer at BranchPattern, where she’s all about turning "disguised opportunities" into real wins. Armed with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science in Engineering Management from St. Mary’s University, Hannah knows that the best opportunities often come from hard work and perseverance. Hetvi Vora sees sustainability as a blend of science and art, where every project is a canvas waiting to be filled with thoughtful, impactful solutions. As a Sustainable Design Consultant and WELL Performance Testing Agent at BranchPattern, she balances the technical precision of Carbon Accounting, WELL Performance Testing, and detailed research with a creative approach that brings life to her work. It’s not just about hitting numbers—it’s about designing spaces that feel as good as they perform, turning sustainability into a living, breathing art form. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering and a Master of Science in Sustainable Building Systems from Northeastern University, she brings both expertise and passion to the table. Her toolkit is loaded with credentials like LEED AP ID+C, WELL AP, and ASSE Legionella Management—skills she puts into action every day. Most recently, she took things international by wrapping up her first LEED project in Italy.

But Hetvi’s talents don’t stop at spreadsheets and certifications. Hetvi’s also a comic artist, using her talents to bring humor and clarity to even the driest of topics. It’s her way of making sustainability not just accessible, but a little more fun. For Hetvi, it’s all about weaving together research, design, and a dash of humor to keep pushing boundaries—and maybe get a few smiles along the way.

Jarial Franklin is a Customer Relationship Management Coordinator at BranchPattern, where she combines creative thinking with data-driven strategy to enhance client and internal relationships. Her philosophy of viewing every challenge as an opportunity for growth guides her work and personal life. Jarial excels in building and nurturing relationships, deeply understanding client goals, and leveraging research to support informed decision-making.

With degrees in Psychology and Communications from Pittsburg State University and a Master’s in Marketing and Communications from the University of Kansas, Jarial is well-equipped to navigate complex client interactions. Her extensive experience includes roles as a Marketing Director, Assistant General Manager, graduate-level Professor and researcher, which have honed her skills in guiding others to success. As an active member of CREW KC, SMPS, and KC IABC, she remains engaged in industry conversations and trends.

Jarial's passion for community service is evident in her active volunteering with the Kansas City Pet Project, Habitat for Humanity, and the Veterans Community Project. When she’s not giving back, you’ll find her immersed in a world of creativity—baking intricate desserts, painting and sculpting, writing captivating stories, and capturing the beauty of life through photography.

Jason Pittman is dedicated to crafting acoustically optimized environments that elevate the user experience, seamlessly integrating technical excellence with human-centered design. As an Acoustics Account Manager, he fosters strong client relationships, leading projects from concept to execution with precision and expertise. His approach ensures that every space not only meets but exceeds expectations—delivering intuitive, immersive, and high-performing acoustic solutions. 

With a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from Kansas State University and a Master of Science in Education from Fort Hays State University, Jason combines deep technical knowledge with a passion for mentorship. Holding a Certified Technology Specialist – Design (CTS-D) credential and a Kansas Teaching License, he remains at the forefront of emerging technologies and best practices. His dedication to advancing the field is reflected in his active involvement with the Acoustical Society of America and the League of Historic American Theaters. 

Throughout his career, Jason has contributed to a range of high-profile projects, including the Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park and the Historic West Bend Theater, ensuring that each venue delivers an exceptional auditory experience. He is particularly passionate about enhancing educational environments, developing acoustics and technology that empower students and educators alike. His ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible knowledge makes him a sought-after mentor, inspiring the next generation of acoustics professionals through his work with high school and college students. 

Beyond his professional life, Jason finds fulfillment in teaching, family, and cultivating his own backyard oasis. Whether he’s gaming with loved ones, fine-tuning his vegetable garden, or maintaining the family treehouse, he approaches every project with the same curiosity and dedication that define his career. Jeremy Mazas is a LEED Consultant and Commissioning Agent at BranchPattern, where he expertly integrates sustainable building practices with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every building system operates flawlessly. A proud graduate of the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering, Jeremy leverages a strong academic foundation to advance his career in green building.

Despite being early in his professional journey, Jeremy has already earned his LEED AP BD+C credential, showcasing his commitment to environmental stewardship and excellence in the built environment. His proficiency with the LEED v4 system, combined with active involvement in the Midwest chapter of the USGBC, positions him as a rising leader in the field of sustainable design.

Outside of work, Jeremy enjoys immersing himself in the strategic world of board games and tabletop RPGs, where he channels his analytical skills into creating immersive experiences. A former violinist, Jeremy's appreciation for harmony extends beyond music into his passion for nature, particularly through camping adventures that allow him to reconnect with the outdoors.

Joshua Palakapilly is an Acoustician at BranchPattern, where he brings spaces to life by designing acoustically optimized environments that balance sound perfectly. Joshua meticulously tailors his acoustical recommendations to align with each project's unique needs and the design team's vision, striving to exceed expectations. He excels at diving deep into the owner's or architect’s objectives, ensuring that his solutions not only meet but enhance the intended use of the space—whether that’s by improving privacy between rooms or fine-tuning acoustics for the ultimate listening experience.

With a B.S. and Master's in Architectural Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Joshua blends technical expertise with a profound passion for acoustics, making him an essential asset to any project. His commitment goes beyond problem-solving; he aims to push the boundaries of acoustical design and inspire others within the company to appreciate the critical role of sound in the built environment.

A lifelong learner, Joshua has passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Other Disciplines exam and completed the AIA Materials Matter course. As an active member of the USGBC, he is always seeking opportunities to grow, with plans to achieve a LEED Green Associate Certification. Will McCann is passionate about optimizing energy efficiency and driving sustainability in building design. As an Energy Modeler and Building Performance Consultant at BranchPattern, he uses cutting-edge simulation tools and data analysis to fine-tune building performance, reduce energy consumption, and ensure compliance with codes and standards. Will thrives on collaborating with diverse teams and working on innovative projects that push the boundaries of sustainable design.

Will holds a Master’s in Architectural Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and a B.S. in Architectural Engineering from the University of Kansas. His strong academic background, paired with his expertise in energy modeling, allows him to seamlessly collaborate with architects and engineers, using technology to bridge the gap between design and performance. Among his many accomplishments, Will has certified numerous LEED energy models and modeled complex net-zero energy and emissions buildings. He’s a LEED AP BD+C and Engineer-in-Training (EIT), and actively engages with professional organizations like ASHRAE and IBPSA to stay ahead of industry trends and best practices.

When he’s not optimizing building performance, Will is channeling his energy into sports. He’s spent years cultivating a love for hockey, lacrosse, volleyball, basketball, and baseball, and you’ll often find him on the field or the court enjoying the thrill of competition. Will loves the mental and physical challenge that sports bring, as well as the connection and teamwork involved. From high-intensity games to casual matches with friends, his enthusiasm for staying active never wavers. For Will, sports aren’t just a hobby—they’re a way to sharpen his strategic thinking, build resilience, and fuel his competitive spirit. Much like his work in building performance, sports push him to constantly improve, aim higher, and work seamlessly with others to achieve outstanding results.

Kanchana Anand’s passion for sustainable design is matched only by her drive to help clients reach their highest green building goals. As a LEED Sustainable Consultant and Project Manager at BranchPattern, she dives into LEED consulting and energy modeling with precision and enthusiasm, constantly collaborating with colleagues and guiding peers through technical challenges. It’s not just about achieving certifications—it’s about pushing projects to their fullest sustainable potential, always with a focus on the details that make a lasting impact.

Armed with a Bachelor’s in Architecture from Madurai Kamarajar University and certifications like LEED AP BD+C, she brings a solid foundation and a wealth of experience to every project. A proud member of the Indian Institute of Architects (AIIA) and USGBC, she blends technical savvy with a mentor’s heart, always eager to help others grow and succeed.

But Kanchana’s impact extends beyond the blueprints. Through her involvement with Habitat for Humanity, she’s dedicated to making a tangible difference in the community. Lance Childress thrives at the intersection of design and technology, where logistics meet occupant experience to shape smarter, more efficient spaces. As a Technology Designer, Lance takes on multiple roles—whether leading as a Discipline Lead, where project management and deadlines are the name of the game, or diving deep into BIM modeling and technical specifications as a Designer. His adaptability and focus ensure that no detail is overlooked, delivering exceptional results regardless of his role.

With a strong background in electronic security systems and physical door hardware, Lance has a unique ability to bridge the gap between trades, coordinating seamlessly to create streamlined access and management solutions. His expertise is backed by his AVIXA CTS-I certification, bringing an extra layer of technical depth to each project. But for Lance, the real highlight is the collaborative process—working side by side with others to navigate the complexities of a space and how design can be influenced by its usage.

Outside of project work, Lance is no stranger to lending a helping hand. He’s volunteered with The Gathering Place, serving in the kitchen and connecting with the community, as well as pitching in with Habitat for Humanity on new home builds. These experiences, along with his participation in national industry meetings, are a testament to his dedication to making a real-world impact.

His perfect weekend day includes an early morning workout to energize him for the day ahead, soaking up some sun, and ending with a relaxing evening of cooking dinner at home.

As Project Manager, Markus Hurd is the driving force behind sustainability, creating impactful LEED certification strategies that go beyond the basics. He develops tailored plans that not only meet LEED goals but weave energy efficiency and sustainability into every stage of a project. With his hands-on leadership, Markus ensures progress stays on track, from site inspections to quality control, all while anticipating risks and overcoming challenges with ease.

With a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical from the University of Denver, Markus combines technical expertise with a deep passion for sustainability. His mechanical engineering expertise allows him to craft solutions that meet the highest standards of energy efficiency, ensuring every LEED project exceeds expectations. Beyond his technical skills, Markus is a natural leader and communicator, facilitating regular project meetings to keep teams aligned on LEED goals, engaging stakeholders to ensure transparency, and providing training on sustainable building best practices.

One standout moment that showcases his leadership was coordinating 38 site visits in just two days, all within a tight two-week deadline. His ability to mobilize teams, streamline logistics, and pull off a seemingly impossible feat left the client in awe. It’s this level of precision, drive, and leadership that sets Markus apart.

When Markus isn’t managing sustainable building projects, he’s out on the mountain, pushing limits on his snowboard. Whether launching off cliffs or carving through tricky terrain, snowboarding fuels his drive for adventure. It’s the perfect balance to his work, keeping him focused, energized, and always ready for the next challenge.

Mike Meyers believes that there’s always room for improvement—whether it’s refining a project’s technical design or strengthening client relationships. As a Building Technology Account Manager at BranchPattern, he tackles each challenge with a mindset that “our work is never really done.” From Project Management and Technology Design to Business Development, Mike brings an eye for detail and a passion for creating spaces that don’t just work—they excel.

With a B.S. in Management from Metropolitan State University of Denver, along with RCDD and CTS certifications, Mike’s expertise encompasses structured cabling design and electronic security solutions. Earning his RCDD certification in his early thirties is one of his proudest professional achievements, but he knows that success is just the first step. He’s an active member of industry organizations like BICSI, AVIXA, SMPS, and A4LE, always striving to deepen his understanding and keep moving the goalposts forward.

When he’s not navigating complex technology challenges, Mike’s likely hitting the slopes, on the golf course, or casting a line in a quiet river with family and friends. Even outside the office, his philosophy of “never really done” shines through—he’s always looking to hone his skills, embrace new adventures, and enjoy the journey along the way.
